White House: End Hunger by Addressing Poverty

We cannot address hunger in America without reducing poverty. Sign the petition for the White House to act.

What to know:

  • Over 40 million Americans are struggling to put food on the table.
  • In response to hundreds of Global Citizen messages on food insecurity, we have set up an urgent petition to the White House.
  • Urge the White House to tackle poverty, the root cause of hunger in America.

Learn More about this cause:

Poverty is the root cause of hunger in America yet the upcoming White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health is not slated to address poverty. The White House must take action on poverty if it truly wants to end hunger in America.

Right now, nearly 40 million US citizens are struggling to put food on the table. In July, we asked you your experiences of the food crisis in America and received hundreds of responses.

No one should have to work multiple jobs to feed their family, choose between food and medical bills, or survive off of one meal a day. Parents across America should not be in a position where they cannot afford to feed their children fruit and vegetables.

But this is the reality for millions of Americans and thousands of US Global Citizens.

That’s why Global Citizen is launching an urgent petition to the White House to tackle the cost of living crisis and poverty reduction as a part of its hunger conference this September.

A living wage should always be enough for a family to access safe, nutritious food. Add your name to stop the hunger crisis and we’ll hand the petition over to the White House.
