The Netherlands has championed the movement for global water and sanitation, committing at Global Citizen 2015 Earth Day to ensure 50 million people would gain access to toilets and 30 million would gain access to clean water by 2030.
Dutch leadership has helped to deliver critical water and sanitation resources to the world’s poor, including supporting the end of open defecation and providing handwashing facilities.
The Netherlands has just chosen Sigrid Kaag as its new Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation.
There’s not a moment to waste in the fight to bring safe water and sanitation to all. Welcome Minister Kaag and call on her to expand the Netherlands’ leadership in water and sanitation.
