UK: Protect Brazil's Forests

Urge the UK to act against deforestation — our forests and future depend on stronger laws now.

What to know:

  • The UK promised to act on deforestation imports, but loopholes still threaten forests and Indigenous lives in Brazil.
  • Brazil’s forests, vital for the planet, are being destroyed daily while the UK delays enforcement of its law.
  • Send a message: Tell the UK to keep its promise, protect Brazil's forests, and strengthen its Environment Act now!

Learn More about this cause:

The UK promised to stop deforestation-linked imports with the Environment Act in 2021. But years later, vital rules are still missing.

Meanwhile, UK imports of beef, soy, and other goods are helping destroy rainforests in Brazil — including the Amazon and other biomes such as Cerrado.

Cattle products from Brazil alone make up almost one third of the UK's entire deforestation footprint and have been linked to over 12,000 hectares of Amazon deforestation since the Act was passed.

Without urgent action, UK trade will continue fueling forest loss, climate chaos, and attacks on Indigenous and Traditional Peoples in Brazil.
