Thank you, President Obama. Become a Global Citizen

Over eight years ago, while giving a speech to launch his candidacy for the presidency of the United States, then-Sen. Barack Obama said these words: “Yes, we can.” This vision has inspired and mobilized millions of people to believe, to take action, and to help solve some of the world’s most challenging issues of our time.

During Obama’s presidency, Global Citizens like you have tirelessly campaigned to ensure that his administration and Congress would take further action to do more for the extreme poor – from increasing humanitarian aid for refugees, to getting both the Water for the World and Global Food Security acts to the president’s desk for him to sign into law. We worked together, and we made progress. But we can’t throw in the towel just yet.

On global issues, President Obama has set a strong precedent to break barriers to make clear that all people, no matter race, religion, or creed, can live in a more equitable and prosperous world.

Now more than ever, we need to make sure he continues to use his voice to fight for the world’s most vulnerable.

We know that through the actions of people, we can create progress that can impact future generations. Together, we have the “Yes, we can” mentality and work ethic to change the world for the better.

Take a moment to thank President Obama for his devotion to public service and call on him to be a #GlobalCitizen.
