Some books stay with you forever. Maybe it was the one that first made you feel seen — or the one that sparked your imagination, changed how you think, or made the world feel bigger.
But for too many children, that kind of moment never comes. Millions still don’t have access to basic reading materials, trained teachers, or safe schools — especially girls and children affected by conflict or displacement.
This year, Global Citizen is calling on everyone — from everyday citizens to major companies — to donate to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund and help raise $30 million by September to support 30,000 children with access to learning and sport.
Here’s how you can help:
Upload a photo of the book that changed your life — from your shelf, online, or even one you’re holding.
In a few sentences, tell us why it mattered to you.
Encourage others to donate to the fund and help give every child the chance to learn.
We’ll share these photos and messages on August 12 — International Youth Day — across our platform and social channels as part of a global call for donations to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
Together, we’ll show companies and the world why every child deserves the chance to open a book — and change their future.
