The Book That Changed You - Now Ask Others To Help Kids Get The Same Chance

Share the book or sport that opened your world, and encourage others to donate to help kids learn. Selected messages will be promoted on August 12

What to know:

  • Books open minds, but millions of kids still don’t have the chance to read. Your support can help change that for 30,000 kids
  • We’re asking you to share a message encouraging others to donate to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund
  • Upload a photo of the book that changed your life, tell us why it mattered, and why others should donate to education.

Learn More about this cause:

Some books stay with you forever. Maybe it was the one that first made you feel seen — or the one that sparked your imagination, changed how you think, or made the world feel bigger.

But for too many children, that kind of moment never comes. Millions still don’t have access to basic reading materials, trained teachers, or safe schools — especially girls and children affected by conflict or displacement.

This year, Global Citizen is calling on everyone — from everyday citizens to major companies — to donate to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund and help raise $30 million by September to support 30,000 children with access to learning and sport.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Upload a photo of the book that changed your life — from your shelf, online, or even one you’re holding.

  • In a few sentences, tell us why it mattered to you.

  • Encourage others to donate to the fund and help give every child the chance to learn.

We’ll share these photos and messages on August 12 — International Youth Day — across our platform and social channels as part of a global call for donations to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.

Together, we’ll show companies and the world why every child deserves the chance to open a book — and change their future.
