Amazing news! The UK heard your call and have just committed £425 million in international aid to UNFPA Supplies across the next five years, which will help millions of girls and women access safe contraception and maternal health medicine.

Right now, 232 million women living in conflict and low-income countries don’t have access to safe contraception and life-saving maternal medicine. Tragically, every two minutes a woman will die from complications in pregnancy or childbirth.

But UNFPA Supplies is working to change this. So far they’ve helped to prevent millions of maternal and child deaths by providing safe contraception and vital maternal medicine to girls and women in the world’s most challenging places.

All this is only made possible with sufficient funding, so we asked Global Citizens like you to call on the UK to make a significant commitment to UNFPA Supplies. The response was incredible — over 200,000 actions were taken as you raised your voice signing our petition, tweeting the government and sending in personal messages.

Together, your actions have made all the difference! The UK heard your call and have pledged a meaningful £425 million over the next five years to UNFPA Supplies. This will significantly help to ensure that no woman will have to go without her basic sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Send a tweet to the UK to say thanks for stepping up and helping to make sure #SheCanPlan!
