On March 2, more than 45 countries gathered in Brussels to rally support for the She Decides  initiative, raising a total of $190 million to address the shortfall of funding left by the the US President’s reinstatement of the “Global Gag Rule”

The rule will eliminate at least  $600 million in funding for women’s health programs around the world – including family planning services, cervical cancer screenings and even Zika prevention.

In the lead up to the pledging summit, over 2,000 Global Citizens took action by tweeting at Canadian Minister for International Development Marie-Claude Bibeau, calling on her to make a bold commitment.

    And Canada delivered.

Minister Bibeau announced that Canada will donate $20 million to support She Decides. Global Citizen was at the conference, and handed over a petition signed by 13,600 Global Citizens to the minister.

Now, thank Canada and Minister Bibeau by sending a tweet to show your support for She Decides and Canada’s pledge of $20 million.
