Socially, economically, politically, and culturally, the world has made remarkable strides towards achieving gender equality. But discrimination still persists.

Right now, 131 million girls are out of school and not learning the basics. Girls and women spend 200 million hours a day collecting water for their families rather than attending school or earning an income. 214 million women do not have access to modern contraceptives. And women earn 23% less than men for the same work.

We must ensure that no matter where she is from or where she lives, that She Is Equal. Leaders around the world need to step up and strongly invest in the rights and needs of girls and women, and this declaration calls for clear action from governments, institutions, and business leaders to ensure health, education, and economic opportunity for girls and women everywhere.

Sign the She Is Equal Declaration and help send a message that you want gender equality now — and expect our leaders to take urgent action.
