After losing both her parents, Janat hid in the woods for more than two weeks to escape being raped or murdered by armed groups in her native Myanmar.

Janat is just 12 years old. Now in a camp in Bangladesh, the learning centre provided to her by Education Cannot Wait is a lifeline to a better future. But her story is not unique: across the world millions of children are forced to leave their homes and their education due to conflict and crisis.

“When we learn and play here, I feel peace in my heart, and forget what has happened to me.”

Education Cannot Wait aims to help all 75 million conflict and crisis affected children go to school — but in order to reach its goal it needs funding. We’re asking world leaders, including the UK, US, Australia, Germany, France, Japan and Ireland to step up — and nearly 40,000 Global Citizens have already added their name to our demands.

Now we need you to make your voice heard— tell the UK and world leaders to support this vital lifeline to a better future for crisis affected children everywhere.

Sign the petition to world leaders, email the UK government, and record your own message on why every child facing conflict and crisis deserves the chance to learn.
