With coronavirus cases now present in more than 100 countries worldwide, and the spread declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization, it’s never been clearer: we are all Global Citizens and everyone can help to stop the virus.

The coronavirus pandemic is upending daily life for millions of people worldwide. As the crisis gets worse, we are all facing challenges. The good news is that one of the best ways to slow down the spread of the virus is simple: governments are encouraging people to stay at home and practice social distancing.

With cases on the rise, it’s more important than ever that people follow this life-saving advice —  because not everyone is able to stay at home. Essential workers like doctors, nurses, street cleaners and shop workers continue to go out every day to save lives and keep our society functioning. In staying at home we are keeping them safe.

We know isolation and loneliness is hard, but following this guidance is the best way to stop the pandemic. In the current crisis, many of us are feeling worried about what this might mean for ourselves and our loved ones.

As Global Citizens, we’re calling on leaders to take urgent action to tackle the pandemic and doing what we can in our daily lives too.

Take the pledge to stay at home and tweet the Canadian government to support the search for a vaccine now!
