Africa gets lots of sunshine — more than almost anywhere else. But more than millions of people there still don’t have electricity. That means kids can’t do homework at night, doctors can’t keep medicine cold, and many families can’t grow their businesses.
That’s why we’re asking the UK, Denmark, and Australia to help. These countries can unlock business invesmtnet for two big clean energy projects that are ready to go. If they say yes, 1 million people in Africa could get power for the first time.
On September 18, we’ll deliver this petition in person to officials from these countries at United Nations meetings in New York. Then we’ll share a scorecard to show which countries are taking action — and which ones aren’t — before the Global Citizen Festival on September 27.
