Break Down Gender Stereotypes with Sesame Street

Brought to you by:

"Growing Up Chamki,” developed by the Sesame Workshop India with support from Procter & Gamble, aims to challenge gender-based stereotypes — like “boys shouldn’t cry” and “cooking is a woman’s job” — that many children are exposed to early on.

Chamki, a fearless 5-year-old Muppet girl from Galli Galli Sim Sim, stars as the central character in the series, which will not only question such stereotypes, but will also encourage children to reject them.

P&G’s marketing director said that, as a partner of the series, they are using their voice in media to remove the gender barriers to education of girls and economic opportunities for women.
