Brazil: Forests Feed Our Future

Forests feed the world and Brazil must lead the world in protecting them at COP30.

What to know:

  • Forests give life but how we grow food is destroying them, risking health, water, livelihoods, and entire communities.
  • No forests, no food. No food, no future. Brazil must protect both by centering forests at COP30.
  • Tag @LulaOficial and @Cop30noBrasil: demand forests and food systems be a top priority on Brazil’s COP30 agenda.

Forests don’t just provide food. They protect it by regulating water cycles, anchoring biodiversity, and stabilizing our climate. Yet every year, millions of hectares are lost, largely driven by how we produce the very food we eat.

During New York Climate Week 2025, the #Forests4Food campaign projected a bold truth onto the heart of the city: No forests, no food. No food, no future. A firm reminder that forest protection is food security, health security, and climate action.

Brazil, home to the Amazon and one of the world’s top food producers, is uniquely positioned to lead. With COP30 hosted in Brazil, President Lula da Silva has a historic opportunity to push for a global shift in how we grow, consume, and protect our resources. Forests and food systems must be front and center on the COP30 agenda.

Forests feed communities from Brazil to Belgium—and protecting them feeds the future. Leave a message for President Lula.
