Ten percent of the girls in India believe menstruation is a disease and over half of the girls in India do not receive education about menstrual hygiene.

Menstrual hygiene is a normal and healthy part of life for women everywhere, but is highly stigmatized across the world, including in India.

By including menstrual hygiene education in school curricula, Chief Ministers across India can help break the menstruation taboo, as well as help girls and women access information to help them manage their periods with pride.
