With Russian forces blocking ambulances, expectant mothers are phoning hospitals for step-by-step instructions on giving birth and how to cut the umbilical cords putting them, and the babies being born in grave danger.
There are 256,000 pregnant women in Ukraine and 80,000 are expected to deliver over the next three months.
These women are delivering their newborn babies in air raid bunkers, shelters and at home. The health of women and girls is at huge risk including violence and abuse.
Many Ukrainian hospitals have been damaged or destroyed since the conflict began and there is an urgent need to fill those gaps in the medical sector.
