Where you live shouldn’t determine whether you live, yet millions around the world are suffering from diseases we know how to treat and prevent.

Healthy people live fuller, happier lives, and are able to pull themselves out of extreme poverty. And, for mothers and children in particular, a healthy life requires access to vaccines and health care.

It’s up to us to call on world leaders to do their part and ensure everyone has access to good health and a chance at a full life. Polio and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) still threaten the lives of millions of people living in poverty around the world — but it doesn’t have to be that way. More than 10 million lives have been saved through vaccinations since 2000 — and even more progress against these diseases could be achieved if governments continue to step up.
