Half of the global population lacks access to essential health services and about 100 million are forced to live on less than $1.90 a day after they’ve paid for the cost of care. This is unacceptable and people around the world deserve a better solution that can improve health outcomes for all.
The good news is: there’s a solution. It’s called Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
UHC means everyone around the world has access to the healthcare they need, like regular check-ups, vaccines, mental health treatment, and life saving medications from well-trained frontline healthcare workers. And beyond individuals, UHC improves global health by helping slow the spread of infectious diseases.
But for UHC to work, we need everyone to know what it is.
So watch the explainer video above and then share it out with your friends on social media. Billions of people around the world are counting on you (and us) to learn more about this issue and take action.
