Indigenous human rights defenders in Mexico, like Kenia Inés Hernández Montalván, urgently need our solidarity.

Kenia, a committed advocate, has been imprisoned since October 2020 for protesting at a Puebla state toll booth to demand the release of fellow activists. With a sentence of over 21 years for charges including robbery and property damage, her situation brings to light the barriers to justice faced by Indigenous activists in Mexico.
