Learn More about this cause:

Large industrialized economies have been spewing carbon-pollution into our atmosphere for decades. Booming industries within these countries created incredible prosperity. There is still hope for our future, but if all countries were to develop in the same way, our planet would be certain to face a climate disaster.

Many countries around the world are already facing that disaster. Forest fires are burning communities to the ground, and droughts have left many hungry. Those with less wealth are less able to prepare for these calamities and are vulnerable to them.

In 2009, the wealthiest countries recognized that the developing world needs financial help, to help all countries worldwide overcome climate change. They agreed to mobilize $100bn per year to incentivise clean economic growth, and to help vulnerable communities adapt to climate change.

These same wealthy countries have not followed through on their commitment, but in weeks G7 leaders will be meeting in the UK, and climate change is on the agenda.

Let’s urge these leaders to take action with a global tweet storm — join us!
