On the first anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine, millions of children remain out of school due to the devastation caused by conflict and displacement. This situation is reflected in the hardships faced by children in the aftermath of the earthquake in Syria, and in numerous other instances of conflict and crisis around the world.

Thanks to Global citizen actions, world leaders have come together to donate much needed fund for kids in conflict and crisis. But we are only half way there. Some decision makers, including the European Commission, have held back on new commitments. 

But the world can't look the other way. Every child deserves the chance to receive an education, no matter where they live or what is happening in their country.
