Germany & France: Where Are Your Climate Plans?

Countries like Germany and France are late on their climate plans — we need to speak up before it’s too late.

What to know:

  • A UN deadline has come and gone, but 187 countries still haven’t submitted their climate plans. We need to speak up.
  • These plans determine how quickly we combat climate change and how we prepare for events such as heat, floods, and storms.
  • Send a message to the leaders of Germany and France. Ask them to submit strong climate plans.

Learn More about this cause:

In 2025, every country was supposed to update its climate plan — also called an NDC — to show how it will help fight climate change. These plans are important because they explain how fast a country will cut pollution, protect people from things like floods and heatwaves, and support the switch to clean energy.

A strong climate plan can mean more solar panels on schools, more green jobs for young people, cleaner air to breathe, and safer homes during storms.

But guess what? Most countries missed the deadline — including France and Germany.

That’s a problem — but also a chance. There’s still time to fix it. If we speak up now, we can push leaders to submit stronger plans that include real action — like helping power 1 million homes with clean energy and protecting 30 million hectares of rainforest.

France and Germany are big global players. They can lead the way — or fall behind. That’s why we’re asking them to set bold goals and invest in solutions that protect both people and the planet.

Raise your voice now. Let’s show them the world is watching — and waiting for real action.
