What to know:

  • Malnutrition is robbing children of a fair start in life — and it's preventable.
  • Canada has helped lead the way. But urgent needs demand renewed action.
  • Thank Canada and urge them to deepen their support for child nutrition.

Learn More about this cause:

Child malnutrition is not a distant problem, it’s a global emergency, affecting millions of children right now. From stunting and wasting to life-threatening nutrient deficiencies, these conditions are all preventable with the right support in place.

The Child Nutrition Fund (CNF), co-led by UNICEF and partners, is one of the boldest responses to this crisis. It empowers national governments to scale up solutions, from nutrition support during pregnancy, to promoting exclusive breastfeeding, to therapeutic food for children on the edge of survival.

Countries like Canada have already helped shape the CNF and have shown real leadership in the global fight against malnutrition. But as the latest State of Food Security and Nutrition report shows, malnutrition data shows mixed and uneven progress. We urgently need more investment to close funding gaps and deliver long-term impact.

Let’s thank Canada for championing child nutrition and urge them to continue their leadership by committing more to the Child Nutrition Fund.
