Watch the Global Citizen Festival on BBC One!
Coldplay, Pearl Jam, Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé, and moooore.
The Global Citizen Festival happened in New York City's Central Park on Saturday, and it was an amazing occasion. Some of the world's biggest music names joined the likes of Bill and Melinda Gates, Michelle Obama, Bono, Malala Yousafzai, Stephen Colbert, Leonardo DiCaprio, Hugh Jackman, Ban Ki-Moon, Richard Branson, political leaders and more (including Big Bird... ok, I'll stop).
Coinciding with the launch of the Global Goals, the Global Citizen Festival was a rallying call: we must act now to end poverty, reduce inequality, and protect the planet. This monumental day saw commitments made by leaders that are set to affect the lives of more than 92 million people around the world.
60,000 people were in attendance, and tickets were earned as opposed to bought. In return for taking action on this very website, global citizens were entered into the draw, and tens of thousands won!
"Ok good", you say. "But I'm in the UK, so I couldn't go".
Fair point, I don't own a private jet either. But here's the good news.
You can watch the best of the 2015 Global Citizen Festival on BBC One tonight (That's Monday September 28)! It's on at 22:35, it's a one hour special, and it's brimming with special moments from the day in Central Park.
