Why Global Citizens Should Care
Putting an end to the COVID-19 pandemic means putting an end to it for all people, everywhere — including people of color, those living in extreme poverty, and all marginalized communities. On June 27, artists, world leaders, corporates, philanthropists, and Global Citizens will unite to drive forward the development and equitable distribution of tests, treatments, and vaccines, and mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on the world’s most vulnerable people. Join the movement by taking action here

Global Citizen and the European Commission have teamed up to bring Global Goal: Unite for Our Future — The Summit & The Concert to audiences around the world, premiering on June 27.

If we’re going to end COVID-19, we need to end COVID-19 for all people, everywhere. That’s why the Global Goal: Unite for Our Future campaign is calling on world leaders to commit the billions of dollars needed to deliver testing, treatments, and vaccines equally for everyone. You can take action to support the campaign here

The concert will be televised and digitally streamed globally, and will highlight the disproportionate impact that COVID-19 is having on marginalized communities — including people of color, those living in extreme poverty, and other communities facing discrimination.

It will bring together some of the world’s leading entertainers with global leaders to honor the problem solvers — doctors, scientists, lab workers, essential workers, and human rights advocates — who are racing to not only create the cure for COVID-19, but also to ensure that it’s available to everyone who needs it.

Hosted by Dwayne Johnson, the concert will feature performances from Shakira, Coldplay, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber and Quavo, J Balvin, Chloe x Halle, Yemi Alade, Christine and the Queens, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Original Broadway Cast of HAMILTON with Jimmy Fallon & The Roots, J’Nai Bridges with Gustavo Dudamel, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, YOLA (Youth Orchestra Los Angeles), and the For Love Choir.

There will also be appearances from Chris Rock, Hugh Jackman, Kerry Washington, Charlize Theron, Forest Whitaker, David Beckham, Salma Hayek Pinault, Billy Porter, Diane Kruger, Antoni Porowski, Ken Jeong, Naomi Campbell, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Olivia Colman.

As well as the concert in the evening, June 27 will also see Global Goal: Unite for Our Future — The Summit streaming widely on social media platforms from 3 p.m. CET / 2 p.m. BST / 9 a.m. ET — giving world leaders, corporates, and philanthropists the opportunity to make new financial commitments to support the organizations leading the world in our COVID-19 response, and supporting communities devastated by the pandemic in rebuilding a fairer, more equal world.

Alongside new commitments to the fight to end COVID-19, the summit will also feature panel discussions and interviews with experts and thought-leaders, moderated by journalists Katie Couric, Mallika Kapur, Morgan Radford, Isha Sesay, and Keir Simmons.

Joining the conversation will be leading advocates, including artists and activists Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Miley Cyrus, Angelique Kidjo, and Ken Jeong.
