Committed activist, Hollywood actress, and CHIME FOR CHANGE co-founder Salma Hayek Pinault has some strong words for US President Donald Trump and his effort to build a wall between Mexico and the US: It’s not going to happen.

In an interview with The Guardian to promote her new film “The Hitman’s Bodyguard,” the Oscar nominee said there was a Catch-22 to Trump’s campaign promise.

“I can promise you he’s not going to build the wall. You cannot build it without the Mexicans that are illegally in the country. That is what makes the economy so strong because they are paid less than half, with no benefit. It’s just not going to happen!”

Hayek Pinault continued: “His days are numbered! Even if he becomes a dictator and rewrites the constitution and now the presidents can stay 12 years! Still his days are numbered!”

Politics is not the only issue that Hayek Pinault, who campaigned for Hillary Clinton and once said she has a Trump pinata, is passionate about.

She is a co-founder of CHIME FOR CHANGE, a campaign founded by Gucci that focuses on girls’ and women’s equality, education, and health.

In that role, she’s traveled to Syria to meet with refugee children, taken the stage at the Global Citizen Festival to promote gender equality and education.

“[CHIME FOR CHANGE is] so massive I don’t even know what to tell you. I don’t just do awareness, I actually do strategy. I’m on the board. It takes a lot, a lot, a lot of time,” Hayek Pinault told The Guardian.

Global Citizen is a partner with CHIME FOR CHANGE and works with Hayek Pinault and her CHIME FOR CHANGE co-founder Beyonce to support the campaign.

When asked how she feels, as a global citizen, about the future of the world in the current political climate, Hayek Pinault answered: “Very optimistic. I have to look for the positive about everything.”

Hayek Pinault is also a self-described feminist.

In a previous interview with The Guardian, she said: “I am a feminist because I love women and I am ready to fight for women. I am a feminist because I am proud to be a woman, and I am passionate about making the world a better place for women. I am a feminist because a lot of amazing women have made me the woman I am today. I am inspired by women every day, as friends and as colleagues.”
