Kalpani is a Policy and Advocacy Intern at the Global Poverty Project in New York. She was born in Sri Lanka, grew up in Australia, has a background in nursing and is currently studying for her Masters of Public Health. When she has spare time she loves to dance, do pilates and get lost in a good book.
I have a vision of a world without poverty and a world where women and children can live safely and happily. Born in a developing country (Sri Lanka) and growing up in a developed country (Australia), I have experienced both cultures and this has fueled my enthusiasm to make an impactful difference in whatever way I can. I believe we all have this enthusiasm and as global citizens we can make a difference together.
