US: Keep Fossil Fuels in the Ground

The science is clear: there can be no green future with fossil fuels – urge the US to stop investing in harmful energy sources.

What to know:

We cannot solve the climate emergency unless we swiftly end our reliance on planet-killing fossil fuels.
Despite pledging to reduce emissions, the US continues to make massive investments in oil and gas.
Action is needed now: tell Energy Secretary Granholm to keep fossil fuels in the ground and swap dirty energy for renewables!

The UN’s latest climate report warns that governments must act urgently to swap fossil fuels for renewable energy. Without this shift, emissions will continue to increase at alarming speeds and the impacts of climate change will worsen.

The solutions are within our reach: If countries act now to keep fossil fuels in the ground, we can keep our planet survivable and safeguard the futures of billions.

But time is running out to act – and economic superpowers like the US are continuing to greenlight fossil fuel projects. With every new oil and gas contract, the green future is delayed.
